Marlboro Men Come to Maui!
It was February 2004 and in Marlboro Country on the mainland there’s a lot of snow and frigid cold, so the people at Marlboro were looking for something different to shoot and we were graced with the presence of 8, yes 8, Marlboro men. All were true to the nature of a real cowboy. Gentleman like and “Yes ma’am” They all could ride and were very easy on the eyes. A few of the cowboys have a ranch in Texas where they raise their own horses so when they go to these shoots they have reliable mounts.
They rode 8 of our finest horses and up on Haleakala Ranch is where a taste of Marlboro Country took place. They gathered up the rodeo broncs and ran them into a draw and up and out the other side with he red dirt hills glowing in the setting sun behind them. A few of the broncs scattered and off rode the Marlboro men to rope em’ and bring em’ back to the herd.
As they were sitting around on their horses they would occasionally light up a Marlboro red and the cameras were there to capture their every move. The main Marlboro man, with his rugged good looks, wore a red shirt and the other 7 called him “King”.
Look for future ads with the red dirt hills and once you get to know our horses you might recognize them in the magazines. Marlboro Country… Maui style. - Tamalyn
