Horseback Riding Wishes Fulfilled for Two Special Children & Their Families
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Makawao, Maui, Hawaii (July 16, 2004) – Piiholo Ranch, Upcountry Maui’s family-owned and operated horseback riding company and working cattle ranch, supported Make-A-Wish Foundation by granting the wishes of two children suffering from life-threatening diseases. Visiting from California, Julia Meldrum and her family took a horse tour with ranch owner, Peter Baldwin; and from Illinois, Ellen Vandewalker and her family enjoyed a similar adventure.
Program Associate for Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation, Melissa Scanlan Zone, commented in a letter, “Your generous donation (total value $1,520) for Julia’s wish to go to Hawaii allowed our wish dollars go further in granting a wonderful wish experience for a special child. Thanks to your kindness and compassion, Julia’s wish came true! Your support, and that of the Piiholo Ranch team, made Julia’s wish experience truly unforgettable.”
Peter states, “This is the kind of thing that I am really happy to do, because it is important for the beneficiaries of Make-A-Wish Foundation and their families. We are all touched by those surviving difficult circumstances, whether we know it or not, and I am happy to help in anyway I can.”
