E Komo Mai - Welcome

Into the towering Eucalyptus forest and green Kikuyu and Pangola pastures, one can’t help but notice the panoramic views – from 2,000-foot elevation to the blue Pacific Ocean, your eyes will dance watching nature’s powerful beauty. Piiholo Ranch provides a horseback ride with plenty of open range to move freely and visit spectacular vistas. Along the ride, guests will see many native plants and indigenous trees of Hawaii, and sometimes colorful, endemic forest birds. The Baldwins have also developed a preserve and nursery for the state bird, the endangered Hawaiian Nene goose, at Piiholo Ranch.

There are many horseback trail rides on Maui, but only one offers the traditional Hawaiian paniolo cowboy adventure. Now you can live the legacy of the Baldwin family, ranchers on Maui for six generations. Piiholo Ranch borders the paniolo town of Makawao (Hawaiian for beginning of the rainforest). Owned and operated by Peter Baldwin and his family, Piiholo Ranch horseback rides share the family’s experience in cattle ranching and caring for the land and Hawaiian history for more than one hundred years.
